Let them help plant larger seeds.

Set up a sprinkler for them to run in!
Let them help with small tasks.

For inside: they can fill up pots of dirt for starting seeds.
Other things include taking them for a stroller ride till they fall asleep and keep them close by in the shade. I've also asked Aerilaya to help me weed, although you have to keep a close eye they aren't picking the real food!
Our gardening has so far been with ages 3 and under, a very challenging age at that! I look forward to my girls getting older and them being able to help me out much more.
In the end I will admit it is EASIER to get things done in the garden without the children around, but gardening with them brings amazing joy. Gardening with your kids gives them hands on experience and knowledge of where their food comes from, which is something that many kids don't get to experience these days. I love it when were all in the garden together as a family, it warms my heart to be creating such great memories with our children.
